Using Internet Explorer 7 (IE 7)
Upgrades to Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 (IE 7) may require that you set up Blackboard as a trusted site and modify Active X settings to take advantage of some the LMS features and functionality.
To begin, follow the steps outlined below. If you experience any problems contact the 24/7 Blackboard Support at 1.866.361.8970 or contact ATDE at atde@frc.mass.edu.
Adding Blackboard as a Trusted Site
Launch IE 7 from your desktop
- Select Tools > Internet Options
- Left click on the Trusted Sites icon (green circle with white checkmark)
- Left click on the Sites button
- Take the checkmark off of the box that says, "Require server verification [https:] for all sites in this zone"
In the textbox area labelled, Add this Web site to the zone:
- Enter: http://framingham.blackboard.com
- Left click on the Add button
- Click OK
- Click Ok on the Internet Properties window
To modify Active X Controls
- From the IE Tools menu select Internet Options
- Click the Advanced Tab
- Under Security
- Select > Allow Active Content to run files on my computer
- Save your changes
