Visual Text Box Editor (VTBE)
In older versions of Blackboard only Internet Explorer users saw a WYSIWYG editor when working with Content Areas and a few other places, such as Test Questions. Firefox users only had options of Smart Text, Plain Text, or HTML. In the most recent release a new Visual Text Box Editor is available for all mainstream browsers. New features or new icons are highlighted below.
The function of each VTBE icon appears when the cursor hovers over the symbol. This is helpful when you are trying to determine how to copy, cut or paste. Users will also notice that HTML code displays when the VTBE first opens - don't panic. Within a few seconds regular text will appear.
