Academic Technology and Distance Education Support Center for Students, Faculty and Staff

Dwight Hall

Welcome to Academic Technology and Distance Education. Whether you are an instructor, staff or online student, on campus or off, undergraduate or graduate, our purpose is to support you in the academic technology arena. We provide academic support for software, online courseware and instructional applications.

Blackboard Support is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week online or by calling our toll free support line 1-866-361-8970. To access Blackboard support tools, chat with a technician or report a technical problem visit our Blackboard Online Resource Center. If you are new to Blackboard or are interested in learning the features of Blackboard we also invite you to walk through our student tutorial. View the tutorial online or download the PDF file.

View our list of Undergraduate and Graduate courses from several departments and links to the course syllabuses. Online courses meet the same academic and accreditation requirements as face-to-face courses.  2009 Spring registration is now open. Complete course schedules and registration information is available at the Graduate and Continuing Education Web site. Online sections tend to fill quickly, so register soon.

Providing Faculty and Staff Resources is one of our primary functions. Are you an old pro with technology? Are you thinking of becoming more involved with technology? Are you somewhere in the middle? We are here to support your academic technology efforts through workshops, conferences, research and development, small-group training and even one-on-one direct assistance. Visit us in Hemenway G05-G09 or call anytime at 508-626-4927. Check out the Leonhard Lab schedule and the updated Blackboard student tutorial.

Teachers who want to strengthen their technology skills are invited to check out our new Online Professional Development Center for Educators. Our Online Professional Development Center offers a number of courses from which to choose including courses in Education and History. Earn 22.5 professional development points (PDPs) for each graduate credit you receive - and collaborate with other educators, any time, any place. For more information contact Nancy Proulx at (508) 626-4034.
